Visa Requirements
:: Copy of passport information page
The passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Tanzania and have a minimum of one blank visa page.
You can either submit a scan of the page(s) with your application OR send your passport in order for us to scan and upload on your behalf.
:: Recent passport photograph
This must be no more than six months old and should be a clear, colour image taken against a white background. As above, you can either submit your photograph digitally with your application OR we can scan and convert it for you.
:: Approved letter of invitation
Applicants must provide a letter of invitation from a legally registered company or organisation in Tanzania, confirming the purpose of visit and proposed duration of stay.
It is recommended that your host submits this directly to the Commissioner General of Immigration in Tanzania or the Commissioner of Immigration in Zanzibar, as appropriate. You should then provide the letter of permission as part of your eVisa application. In this instance, processing will take up to five working days.
Alternatively, you can submit the letter of invitation as part of your application, and the embassy will obtain approval from the Commissioner on your behalf. In this instance, processing will take up to two months..
:: Completed eVisa order form
Please click the ‘place order’ button on this page and complete the form, so we can submit an eVisa application on your behalf.
PLEASE NOTE
Tanzanian visas (eVisas) are issued electronically, so there will be no stamp inside your passport. A single-entry eVisa is valid for 90 days, and can be used to enter Tanzania through one of five specified entry points, as follows:
• Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA)
• Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA)
• Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (AAKIA)
• Namanga border
• Tunduma border
Visas for applicants of your nationality require special clearance from the Commissioner General of Immigration. Travellers are advised to apply for a visa at least two months before their planned date of travel. The embassy also recommends that you do not book flight tickets or pay for hotel reservations in Tanzania until your visa has been approved.
Additional Information
Visa fees are fixed in US dollars. The exact sum payable may therefore fluctuate according to the exchange rate.
The embassy reserves the right to request additional documents in support of your visa application, and to alter or increase fees without prior notice.
No refund will be given if your visa is cancelled or rejected by the embassy.
Visa and Service Fees
Please note, all fees are charged per individual traveller. Service and processing fees are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the point of invoice. The total price of your order will depend on the product and the processing service you select. Visa fees are subject to change with no prior notice.
