PLEASE NOTE

The Sri Lankan tourist visa, or ETA, is issued electronically, so there will be no stamp inside your passport. A record of your information will be kept on file by the immigration authorities in Sri Lanka.

The ETA is valid for six months and you cannot obtain a new one using the same passport until the original visa expires. If you lose the passport which contains your ETA, you may apply for a new one by paying the visa fee again.

The visa is valid for two trips, taken within six months from the date of issue. The maximum length of stay on any one trip is 30 days. You may be able to obtain a visa extension on arrival in Sri Lanka.

Applicants from the following countries must obtain a standard visa, rather than an ETA: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (DRC), Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Uganda. Please contact us if you require further information or assistance.

Additional Information

The visa fee is fixed in US dollars, but payable in British pounds. The exact amount may therefore vary due to currency fluctuation.

Citizens of the Maldives, Singapore and the Seychelles do not require a visa to visit Sri Lanka for up to 30 days.

The embassy reserves the right to request additional documents in support of your visa application, and to alter or increase fees without prior notice.

In some instances, applications may be referred and details forwarded to the Department of Immigration. This is likely to delay visa processing.

No refund will be given if your visa is cancelled or rejected by the embassy.

Visa and Service Fees

Please note, all fees are charged per individual traveller. Service and processing fees are exclusive of VAT, which will be added at the point of invoice. The total price of your order will depend on the product and the processing service you select. Visa fees are subject to change with no prior notice. Please contact us before placing your order if you require further information.
