The Sri Lankan tourist visa, or ETA, is issued electronically, so there will be no stamp inside your passport. A record of your information will be kept on file by the immigration authorities in Sri Lanka.
The ETA is valid for six months and you cannot obtain a new one using the same passport until the original visa expires. If you lose the passport which contains your ETA, you may apply for a new one by paying the visa fee again.
The visa is valid for two trips, taken within six months from the date of issue. The maximum length of stay on any one trip is 30 days. You may be able to obtain a visa extension on arrival in Sri Lanka.
Applicants from the following countries must obtain a standard visa, rather than an ETA: Afghanistan, Cameroon, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (DRC), Egypt, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Myanmar, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria, Uganda.
