The photograph must be no more than six months old.
:: Completed and signed application form
The application form should be filled out in English or Russian/Belarusian, using type or clearly legible handwriting in block capital letters. Please answer all questions and ensure you specify the purpose of your trip in detail. If a question does not apply to you, write ‘N/A’ as the answer. Incomplete forms will automatically be rejected by the embassy.
If the visa application is for a minor, the form must be signed by their legal representative.
:: Proof of residence
Non-UK passport holders must submit an original, valid UK residence card/permit, or have proof of residence in their passport.
:: Letter of invitation
The letter of invitation must come from a business or organisation in Belarus, which is registered as a legal entity by the Belarusian authorities. It should be on official letterhead, to include a registration number, date of issue, the full name of the company, its location and a telephone number. It must be signed by a company official and should also bear a corporate seal.
The letter must be written in Russian and should follow the format of the template letter linked opposite. It should indicate the expected duration of your trip, and provide a written guarantee that you will abide by the rules and regulations applied to foreign citizens while in Belarus.
A scanned or faxed copy of the invitation may be submitted to the embassy ONLY if agreed upon with the consul. In all other instances, you must provide the original letter.
:: Travel insurance
Please submit a copy of your health insurance certificate OR, where applicable, a letter from your company clearly stating you are covered by their insurance policy. This must include your name, the name and telephone number of the insurance company, and confirmation that the policy covers Belarus (written either as ‘Belarus’, ‘Europe including Belarus’ or ‘worldwide’). The policy must be valid for the full duration of stay with a minimum limit of responsibility for medical services set at 10,000 euro.
:: Birth certificate, if applicable
Applicants under 18 years must provide a copy of their full birth certificate, plus copies of both parents’ passports.
Depending on your nationality, you may be eligible to visit Belarus for a stay of up to 5 days (4 nights) without a visa. In order to take advantage of visa exemption, you must travel via Minsk National Airport, and carry a valid passport, proof of financial means (equivalent to at least £20 per day of stay) and medical insurance valid in Belarus with cover of least €10,000.
